Valpac Website Design Wins International Award

Written by: Phillip Nones

Caroline County-based manufacturer Valpac, Inc. has been named a Gold Award winner in the 2019 international AVA Digital Awards competition.  The award was presented to Valpac for a new corporate website developed by Mullin/Ashley Associates, Inc., a Chestertown-based branding, communications, web design and PR firm.

The new Valpac website provides information about the company’s adhesive and coatings products, including branded products and custom-engineered solutions as well as toll and contract manufacturing capabilities.  Founded in 1983, Valpac serves a wide-ranging clientele including manufacturers of adhesives and coatings along with customers in industry segments ranging from medical packaging and automotive interiors to tape and label products.

Valpac’s website is one of the primary ways that the company markets its products and services to a national customer base.  According to Tyler Willis, Mullin/Ashley’s digital marketing manager who spearheaded the web development project, the website is designed to maximize Valpac’s online visibility to companies that are seeking new sources of supply.

“A significant portion of Valpac’s new sales opportunities come from its web presence, so our goal was to build the site to capture as much of that interest as possible,” Willis says.  “Part of this effort was to make the browsing experience effective and smooth for people browsing on smartphone and other small screens in addition to desktop and laptop computers,” he adds.

Mullin/Ashley built the new Valpac website on the WordPress platform, while also incorporating a user-friendly content management function that enables Valpac’s administrative staff to make site edits and updates without the need for special programming knowledge.

The AVA Digital Awards is an annual international competition that is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).  This year’s competition attracted approximately 2,500 entries from 25 countries around the world.

Commenting on winning the website development award for Valpac, Phillip Nones, Mullin/Ashley’s president, stated, “National competitions like the AVA Digital Awards allow our company to be judged according to rigorous standards of design excellence.  We’re particularly gratified to be recognized in this particular competition that attracts so much international interest and participation.”
