MULLIN/ASHLEY  WINS  FIVE  AWARDS  IN

MARCOM  CREATIVE  AWARDS   NATIONAL  COMPETITION

Chestertown, Md., January 22, 2008 – Mullin/Ashley Associates, Inc., an integrated marketing communications firm serving the Mid-Atlantic region, has been recognized in the 2007 MarCom Creative Awards competition with five award-winning entries.  The awards included two Platinum, two Gold, plus one Honorable Mention for communications programs produced for four Maryland clients:  Anne Arundel Medical Center (Annapolis), Benchworks (Chestertown), Cambridge International (Cambridge), and the Historical Society of Kent County (Chestertown).

A Platinum Award was won by Mullin/Ashley for creating a commemorative brochure for the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation.  It was distributed at a special Chairman’s Circle luncheon held to honor individuals and organizations who donate $5,000 or more to AAMC annually.  The brochure, which carries the theme “Words can’t express our gratitude.  Maybe our stories can.” recognizes and thanks donors while illustrating what their generosity has accomplished.  Throughout the pages of the brochure, the theme is underscored by presenting compelling personal stories of real patients that illustrate the medical specialties and health technologies provided by AAMC.

Also for AAMC, an Honorable Mention Award was won for a brochure produced by Mullin/Ashley to report the results of a comprehensive opinion survey taken by the hospital’s nearly 3,000 employees.  In addition to presenting key findings, the brochure outlined changes and new initiatives undertaken by AAMC as a result of the survey, underscoring how employees’ opinions have shaped new ideas and progress.  The brochure was handed out at a series of Town Hall meetings, where employees learned first-hand what changes are underway and where they were encouraged to stay involved, thereby creating an even better work environment and helping the hospital maintain its position as the premier health system in its region.

A Gold Award was won by Mullin/Ashley for a corporate capabilities brochure developed for Cambridge International, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of metal conveyor belting and wire cloth products.  Cambridge products are used in a wide variety of applications and industries, including food processing and industrial manufacturing.  The capabilities brochure created by Mullin/Ashley focuses on how Cambridge works with each individual customer to formulate the best belting application to improve and enhance their conveying operations.  The brochure is being used as a marketing tool not only in the United States, but also overseas where Cambridge is active in dozens of countries.

Awards were also won by Mullin/Ashley Associates for two organizations in Kent County, Md.  A Platinum Award was won for a capabilities brochure created for Benchworks, a marketing services company that specializes in operating online company stores, customer loyalty programs, non-traditional direct mail programs, plus call-to-action programs including fulfillment services.  Benchworks’ client roster includes Fortune 500 and other important organizations in the consumer products and pharmaceutical industries.  With the company’s roots in rural Kent County, Mullin/Ashley designed the capabilities brochure with the “rural/farm” imagery as a central design element – successfully creating a highly individual brand platform for

the company that is utterly unique in its market sector.

In addition, a Gold Award was won by Mullin/Ashley for a new brand image platform created for the Historical Society of Kent County, a not-for-profit membership organization that aims to preserve the county’s rich history and assist individuals in conducting historical research endeavors.  Mullin/Ashley’s pro bono support for this organization included designing the historical society’s new logo, as well as producing elements such as a stationery package and promotional literature that is on display at local businesses and tourist sites throughout the region.
