HAYWARD BAKER LAUNCHES NEW
WICK DRAIN DIVISION
Denver, Colo., January 19, 2009 – Hayward Baker Inc., the international ground engineering specialist with extensive operations and activities in North America, announces the formation of its Wick Drain Division.
Commenting on the division’s formation, George Grisham, president, said, "The opening of the Wick Drain Division complements Hayward Baker's other ground modification techniques. We will now be able to self-perform wick drain installations in conjunction with our stone column and soil mixing operations as well as for stand-alone wick drain projects."
John D. Peterson has been appointed senior project manager and head of the Wick Drain Division. Peterson is responsible for development, estimating and project management of the division’s activities and projects throughout North America.
Peterson has more than 20 years of experience in the operation and management of wick drain projects inside and outside the United States. Before joining Hayward Baker, he was senior wick drain project manager at Nilex Construction, where he oversaw some of the largest and most important wick drain projects ever undertaken in North America, including the Interstate Highway 15 Corridor Reconstruction project in Salt Lake City and the Port of Los Angeles Channel Deepening project. A native of Canada, Peterson studied Civil Engineering at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
