Birmingham, Oh., February 19, 2009 — Whizard® Series II Trimmers from Bettcher Industries are designed for special high-value poultry applications. The Model 350 trimmer with a cone blade is particularly well-suited for chicken paw upgrade applications to meet the growing export market demand for this product.
By removing blemishes on the paws caused by ammonia buildup, this new, value-enhancing trimming application creates an important opportunity for optimizing profits on an otherwise basic, low-margin product. The Whizard® Series II Model 350 trimmer successfully upgrades paws from render material to A- or B-graded paws. Using a single tool, the paw upgrade procedure is swift and effective. The operator simply cuts under the blemish with surgical precision for maximum yield and improved appearance. The entire process takes mere seconds to complete, and results in dramatically reducing the volume of “condemned” paws that need to be assigned to low-value rendering.
The Whizard® Series II Model 350 Trimmer incorporates patented design elements to enhance operator productivity, safety and comfort in the paw upgrade procedure. An enhanced gear mesh design contributes to smoother blade operation, while better proximity to the built-in steeling device button makes the blade-steeling operation quicker and more comfortable.
Whizard® Series II Trimmer handpieces feature a contoured handle to reduce grip force and torque momentum. Operators can choose from five handle sizes that are easily interchangeable. The handles are color-coded by size for easy identification, and are very comfortable – even during periods of extended use. A removable hand-strap provides operators with added control, while the flex-shaft/casing attaches to the handpiece using a simple two-action motion.
