Birmingham, Oh., March 4, 2008— AirShirz® pneumatic scissors from Bettcher Industries increase worker productivity while reducing muscle fatigue in poultry wing segmenting operations.
With their fixed bottom blade design, AirShirz® scissors provide a clean, accurate cutting action, producing a consistently high-quality separation of the wing and drummette, while dramatically reducing the incidence of imprecise cuts and resulting bone contamination.
Fully controllable blades allow operators to use AirShirz® units just as they would manual scissors in the wing segmenting application. Yet these scissors require approximately 90% less muscle activity to operate, while achieving up to 127% greater worker productivity compared to manual scissors.
AirShirz® pneumatic scissors are available in two grip designs: a two-finger grip for smaller hands and a larger finger-loop style, thereby ensuring comfort for each individual operator. All units feature an automatic spring-return action, so no effort is required to open the blades once the cut is completed.
The scissors’ pneumatic operation gives users complete control over the cutting action, thereby guarding against accidents or an inadvertent cut. A safety latch secures blades in a locked position for better safety and to prevent damage when not in use. All Airshirz® units use standard 80 to 120 psi plant air.
