MULLIN/ASHLEY RELOCATES TO CHESTERTOWN’S HISTORIC DISTRICT;
JOINS DOWNTOWN CHESTERTOWN ASSOCIATIONChestertown, Md., May 4, 2010 – Mullin/Ashley Associates, Inc., a marketing communications and web development firm, announces that it has relocated to new facilities in downtown Chestertown. The company’s new office is located on Cannon Street, in the town’s historic district.
Concurrent with its move downtown, Mullin/Ashley has also joined the Downtown Chestertown Association (DCA). The DCA promotes businesses, professional services and non-profit organizations in Chestertown by sponsoring activities that encourage locals and tourists to think of, and support local shops and businesses.
Among the DCA’s activities promoting downtown merchants are First Fridays, the Crazy Days summer sidewalk sale, Holiday Lights & Winterfest Weekend, and Taste of the Town.
Beginning in March, the DCA launched a new marketing and education campaign called “Think Chestertown First” that draws attention to the value local businesses bring to daily living in the area. “In Chestertown … we have something that many other places envy: a strong sense of place within a beautiful town,” said Nancy McGuire, DCA’s president. “To maintain our cherished lifestyle, we all must go out of our way to think first about our local community of businesses.”
Mullin/Ashley has begun supporting the DCA through the development of a new web site to showcase the organization’s activities, as well as to promote the merchants who are its members. The web development effort is being coordinated by Trena Williamson, an account executive at Mullin/Ashley.
Williamson also reported that she is spearheading the development of a social media initiative for the Chester River Association, another Chestertown-based organization. This initiative aims to integrate Facebook, Twitter and other social media tools to engage the Chester River Association’s active membership and to foster greater interaction between members, as well as to publicize the organization’s activities to a broader group of people interested in the environment and conservation efforts in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties.
Established in 1978, Mullin/Ashley Associates, Inc. is a marketing communications, web development, public relations and market research firm. Headquartered in Chestertown, Md., the company maintains client relationships in six states. Among the locally based companies and organizations Mullin/Ashley supports are Chester River Hospital Center, Dixon Valve & Coupling Company, ArtWorks, and the Historical Society of Kent County.
