Mullin/Ashley Wins in the 2014 Aster Awards National Competition for Excellence in Medical Marketing

Chestertown, Md., May 27, 2014 – Mullin/Ashley Associates, a mid-Atlantic branding, communications, PR and marketing research firm, has been recognized in the 2014 Aster Awards national competition.

 Awards were won by Mullin/Ashley for marketing campaigns created for two Delmarva healthcare organizations:  University of Maryland Shore Regional Health and Atlantic General Hospital.

A Silver Award was won for the Ask the Expert marketing communications campaign produced for the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health.  The campaign publicizes a series of UM SRH community education events led by the institution’s own medical specialists.  The Ask the Expert program presents information, insights and answers on a wide variety of medical topics.  The sessions are held throughout the five-county Mid-Shore region.  Recent topics have included hearing loss, wound care, breast cancer care, Parkinson ’s disease, and the benefits of minimally invasive surgery.

For Atlantic General Hospital, a Bronze Award was won by Mullin/Ashley for its care.convenience TV and print advertising campaign created for this regional healthcare organization located near Ocean City, Md.  The campaign positions Atlantic General as the hospital that is “totally caring and totally convenient” for residents of the region because it offers top-quality physicians, health specialist and treatment options along with fast, easy access to each patient’s health records.

 The care.convenience campaign includes TV and cable spots as well as print advertising in local newspapers and lifestyle magazines.

The Aster Awards, conducted under the auspices of Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine, is a major national competition recognizing excellence in medical marketing communications.  Each entry is judged on criteria including creativity, layout and production quality, as well as overall message effectiveness and consumer appeal.

The Aster Awards program has been established for nearly 25 years.  This is the seventh year that Mullin/Ashley Associates has entered the competition and won.  Phillip Nones, president and director of client services, said, “These new Aster Awards underscore the strong reputation we’ve built in the healthcare field.  We’re pleased that the marketing initiatives undertaken for two of our healthcare clients have been recognized in this national awards program.”
